This year marks the 26th Annual Chris Thater Memorial. Our community is proud to be the host of this premier cycling and running event.

The Chris Thater Memorial was named in honor of a young man whose life was tragically cut short by a drunk driver. With a core mission of promoting a STOP-DWI and healthy lifestyle message, the Chris Thater Memorial makes everyone a winner.

I want to congratulate all of those involved: organizers, sponsors and community groups who have helped to make the Chris Thater Memorial a huge success.  The Chris Thater Memorial would not be the success that it is without you.

For 26 years, world class athletes have come from all over the United States and abroad to compete at the Chris Thater Memorial. And I want to say thank you to not only the athletes, but all of the spectators who have been so supportive of the Chris Thater year in and year out. We again welcome you to our area and hope you will enjoy, participate and have fun at this year's events.

When you are away from the excitement of the races I hope you get a chance to check out our great community and see all that we have to offer here in Greater Binghamton."
